The minimum number of students required per class is three. If only two students enroll, the class will still run but will be shortened to five weeks instead of the usual six.
About the instructor: Jennifer is an experienced educator with over 13 years of teaching expertise in English Language Arts and Special Education. Originally from the Philippines, she has taught in both her home country and the United States and is certified to teach in Montana, Nevada, and the Philippines. Jennifer holds one bachelor’s and two master’s degrees in education and has also taught basic Filipino/Tagalog language classes. Currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada, she is pursuing a Juris Doctor degree and a PhD in Literature, blending her passion for lifelong learning, reading, and teaching to inspire her students with diverse perspectives.
About the class: Complete Tagalog Beginner is an ideal course for those who have never studied Tagalog before or have limited prior knowledge of the language. The class provides a comprehensive introduction to the basics of Tagalog, including its pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
The course will begin with an introduction to the Tagalog alphabet and pronunciation, allowing students to become familiar with the sounds and nuances of the language. From there, students will move on to learning basic vocabulary and grammar, including common phrases, pronouns, verb forms, and essential nouns and adjectives.
Throughout the course, students will engage in interactive activities and exercises to reinforce their understanding of the language. These may include role-playing scenarios, conversational exercises, and grammar drills that encourage practical application in everyday situations.
