Schedule: Saturday 8:50am-9:50am PST
Location: Online (Live via Zoom)
Class size: 3–6 students
If only two students enroll, the course will still run but will be shortened to five weeks instead of the usual six.
đź’» This is a live online course designed for adult learners who have already taken a Complete Beginner Tagalog class or have limited prior exposure to the language.

This Low Beginner Tagalog course is ideal for students who already know how to greet others, ask simple questions, and understand basic sentence structure in Tagalog.
If you’ve completed our Complete Beginner course or have learned some Tagalog informally—through family, travel, or self-study—this class is the perfect next step to build fluency and confidence.

You’ll deepen your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary while learning to express more complex ideas in everyday situations. Topics include:
Expanded sentence structures and verb conjugations
Expressing likes, dislikes, wants, and needs
More advanced question and answer forms
Using common adverbs, prepositions, and time expressions
Talking about daily routines, plans, and family
Reading and understanding short conversations and stories

Janice is a licensed professional teacher with 13 years of experience teaching Tagalog language and Philippine literature. She holds a Master of Arts in Panitikang Filipino from Cebu Normal University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Filipino Language at the University of Mindanao.
Her background includes:
Certification in Early Childhood Learners from De La Salle University
Experience as a Regional Trainer for the Philippine Department of Education
Presenter at the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Filipino Studies
Faculty member at Father Saturnino Urios University
Janice is known for her clear explanations, encouraging teaching style, and ability to create dynamic, culturally-rich lessons that inspire students at all levels.
