(On Zoom) European Portuguese Low Beginner Monday 6:00pm - 7:00pm PST (January 27th to March 3rd) The class size is 3-6 students per class. Instructor: Michelle
This class will meet online from January 27th to March 3rd.
The minimum number of students required per class is three. If only two students enroll, the class will still run but will be shortened to five weeks instead of the usual six.
About the instructor: Michelle was born and raised in the Caribbean and developed a passion for languages at a young age. She continued to dedicate her studies to Spanish and Portuguese in college. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and studied abroad in both Brazil and Portugal. She then went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Spanish and Portuguese Linguistics from UCLA, where she also taught Spanish and Portuguese college courses. She has worked with many different students at different levels while teaching and tutoring, to help them achieve their learning goals. She loves to travel and learn about different cultures. In her spare time, she likes to read, cook, watch movies, go to the gym, and travel when she gets the chance.
About the class:Low Beginner European Portuguese is ideal for learners who have a basic understanding of the language, such as simple phrases and a small vocabulary. This course builds on that foundation by introducing essential grammar structures, everyday vocabulary, and conversational skills.
In this level, students will develop sentence-building techniques and enhance their listening and speaking abilities through engaging activities and real-world scenarios. The course also incorporates cultural insights to deepen students’ connection with the language.
